  RECORD A CD – Advanced Course

This course introduces the singer to the studio process in a supportive and encouraging environment. You will be guided in your song preparation then will have the opportunity to record two songs of your choice in a top Manchester recording studio.  CONCERT WORKSHOPS

"Incredibly moving and inspiring!" are words that have been used by surprised audience members and participants at past concert workshops. That's why many come back time and again to enjoy this very special event. So if you're curious about THE COURAGE TO SING and would like to find out more then this is an opportunity to hear what we get up to in our classes and take part in a song or two. Course participants past and present will perform group and solo songs in what always proves to be a moving and inspiring event. Most of them will never have sung in front of people outside of the class before so it's a big step and they need lots of encouraging support from the audience. You'll be welcome to join in any of the simpler, repetitive rounds and chants or well-known classic songs or you may prefer to just sit back and enjoy the concert.

In true COURAGE TO SING style, the emphasis is on fun, enjoyment and supportive sharing rather than perfection or pressure to perform.

Entry to the Concert Workshops (which take place at Sale Waterside Arts Centre) is £6.00 on the door. Places must be reserved with Mags (call 07985 157519 or email mags@thecouragetosing.co.uk ) and tickets can be collected on the door. Please book as soon as possible if you would like to attend so that we can ensure that there is enough room and refreshments for everyone.

INVESTMENT
You can book anything from a six-week half-term course to a full twenty-four weeks, which comprises our twelve-week Beginner Courses and twelve week Intermediate Courses.

Our COURAGE TO SING courses in Manchester start from £22 per week for 1.5 hour classes booked as a course.
This compares favorably with private singing lessons which usually cost between £20-£35 for just one hour's tuition.

Mags Lowe - Venue Director, Manchester

Mags provides a relaxed, supportive environment for people to open up their voices and build confidence. As a trained, versatile vocalist with experience of live performance, recording studios, auditions and singing competitions she is able to support all levels of singers in their development and is one of the most highly regarded vocal coaches in Manchester.

She draws on personal experience of her own singing journey – the fears, difficulties and the joy – to guide her students with sensitivity and a great sense of fun! As well as being a certified COURAGE TO SING vocal coach she has also trained with Dane Chalfin in Advanced Vocal Pedagogy, drawing on the Estill method.

Over the the last ten years Mags has sung lead and backing vocals with many live bands around the country. She is currently singing with big band, Metro Jazz, and performs frequently as Guest Vocalist with jazz bands across the Northwest. At present she is working on recording her own material in the studio in collaboration with talented local musicians.

It’s a little known fact that a lot of singing is about psychology so with a degree in Psychology, training in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and years of experience of working closely with individuals and groups arts to help them achieve their potential, Mags is well equipped to coach even the most nervous singers.

Mags embraces the unique holistic approach of THE COURAGE TO SING and it was this that drew her to become a Venue Director. She says, "Having trained in Crystal & Reiki healing and Thai Acupressure, explored Eastern energy enhancing practices such as Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Taoism; and practiced positive visualization techniques it made huge sense to me to integrate useful aspects of these practices into singing practice. It takes the process of learning to sing and exploring the voice to a new level!"
